As part of Olin’s senior engineering curriculum, Laure worked with a team of Olin students for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles on  energy-recovery systems to supply additional power to the bike at low engine RPMs.

Was on the advanced manufacturing engineering team working on Apple’s laptop platforms. This experience involved several weeks of international travel, exposure to consumer electronics design, assembly line processes, tolerance stack up analysis, process capability and computational statistical analysis of micro-manufacturing techniques.

Intern: Rocket Orion Simulation Group

June 2009 - Aug 2009 in Moffet Field, CA

Wrote an automated data visualization plug-in that analyzes multivariate data sets in the rocket Orion simulation program using a technique called Parallel Coordinate Plotting. Also wrote small modules for the Margins post-simulation analysis code.

May 2010 - Aug 2010 in Mountain View, CA

Worked on an aerodynamics R&D start-up team developing personal electric aircraft. Wrote a simple propeller acoustic model, participated in prototype building and testing, wrote and validated a blade-element propeller optimization code. Intern: Wind Energy Project

May 2011 - Aug 2011 in Mountain View, CA

Designed a wind turbine blade modification that increases turbine efficiency over a range of speeds, tested a simplified prototype, and wrote a program that predicts how this modification affects turbine performance. Full CAD of a second prototype completed; SLS second generation prototype under consideration. Project leader, primary inventor, Application No.: 13/032,545.
